Kupfert & Kim

Kupfert & Kim is a plant-based, quick-service restaurant making delicious, minimally-processed food.

Fresh produce arrives every morning in its whole form and is prepped in each location. Almost everything is made in-house from scratch, including sauces, pickles, curries and patties. Any item not made in-house comes from suppliers that have been thoroughly vetted and trusted.

All meals are designed to balance protein, carbs, fat, and the full array of vitamins and minerals. The proteins are complete, the carbs are complex, and the fats are "good" because they come from plants! And since fibre is only found in plant-based food, you can be assured that you are getting a proper dose, too.

They aim to select organic produce, such as greens, berries, and soy products, otherwise known to have a significant adverse environmental impact or lots of pesticide residue.

They produce almost nothing that enters a landfill: the little waste produced is either composted or recycled, and their food is served in compostable takeout materials.

imPerfect Fresh Eats
Founders, partners and siblings – May and Jeff Dang created imPerfect Fresh Eats on the simple belief that healthy eating should be something everyone can enjoy. So, they set out to create a place where people can reconnect with their love for food in a delicious, sensible, convenient and positive way.imperfect

What was the solution? Designing a menu that incorporates imperfect produce to lower overall costs for customers without sacrificing nutrition or taste. This solution also helped save delicious food from going to waste and supported local farmers and producers with an extra source of income. It is the perfect, or rather yet, ideal solution!

Imperfect Fresh Eats’s mission is to inspire others to join the “imperfect” movement. Around the world, many grocers and organizations have already shown excitement for eating imperfectly. Hopefully, one day, the idea of “imperfect produce” will cease to exist. If (or when) that day comes, they strive to find other resourceful and creative solutions that turn today's existing problem into an all-around positive solution for tomorrow.

Freshii
While working for fashion designer Oscar de la Renta in New York City, Matthew Corrin was inspired by “mom-and-pop” delis with fresh food but lacklustre branding and service. He sought to “add magic to the fresh food business” and, in 2005, founded Freshii. His idea was to create a scalable, branded and purpose-driven model to help citizens of the world live better by making healthy food convenient and affordable.

Their menu is constantly evolving. Every 90 days, they roll out a new item incorporating the latest health and food trends. Freshii’s Lead Nutritionist is forever testing and tasting ways to make these trends as nutrient-dense, accessible and crave-worthy as possible.

They have seven different menu categories – bowls, burritos, salads, wraps, soups, smoothies, and juices – and each is innovative.  All packaging is made from biodegradable corn and potato resin or is easily recyclable.

Impact Kitchen
Impact Kitchen was founded back in 2015 by Josh Broun and Frank Toskan. As chance would have it, Josh was Frank’s trainer. During the
impactDuring sessions, they would discuss the gap in the Toronto marketplace for healthy places to eat and drink. Over time, an idea began to brew: what if there was a place that made living a healthier lifestyle easy and accessible?

So Impact Kitchen was created as a place where anyone could be confident that their food supports the life they want to lead. They work closely with farmers and suppliers to ensure all their fresh, local and organic ingredients are of the highest quality.

With the support of their team of chefs, nutritionists and wellness experts, they are dedicated to ensuring each item on their menu has a nutritional purpose (and tastes fantastic, too).

Basil Box
The street markets of Thailand and Vietnam inspired Basil Box, a restaurant where you can mix and match ingredients to build one of thousands of possible boxes. Start with a base of rice, noodles, or greens, and then add veggies, proteins, sauces and toppings in unique combinations that will have you both return for your favourites and experiment with something new.

Close your eyes and imagine the sights, smells and sounds of a bustling street market in Southeast Asia. Farmers' tending carts piled high with fresh meats, vegetables, and exotic spices beckon. At the same time, you navigate food vendors peddling prepared plates chock-full of bold-flavoured local staples and tantalizing delicacies.

Too often, North American-Asian food is greasy, deep-fried fare. Basil Box reintroduces Asian cuisine to the North American market authentically and healthily to satisfy your cravings and conscience. You don’t need more time to eat right: you can build your box in minutes, knowing that you're doing right by your mind and body.
